Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Barstow By Ihg, Barstow

Upon arrival, the hotel's rooms were large and quiet despite road proximity. However, there was always a 'musky' smell lingering around 9:30am. The service at the desk was extremely friendly and accommodating, with Ms. [staff name] available for everything needed. The location, though slightly darker than surrounding areas, is conveniently just off I15 and on the main street in Barstow. The dining experience was acceptable, notably managed by one gentleman working single-handedly in the breakfast area. Overall, a decent hotel with some limitations.

My stay at the hotel was overall pleasant. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, and the staff was friendly. Despite a slight 'musky' smell, it was quiet even with the hotel almost full. The service was efficient and friendly, accommodating our need to trailer our jeeps to Calico and changing my room immediately. The location, just off I15 on the main street in Barstow, was convenient, but there was a missed opportunity to open up tables in the dining area. The complimentary breakfast was great, starting at 5 am, with delicious hot eggs, sausage, coffee, and Cinnabon rolls. The facilities were satisfactory, offering a decent experience. However, on the downside, the location seemed darker compared to the rest of the grout in the room, and although not directly in Barstow, it was along our path and next to a discount outlet and plenty of eating places, mostly fast food options.

I stayed at the hotel and was pleased with the clean and comfortable rooms and the very attentive service desk. However, the room temperature was a bit tricky with one side cold and the other warm. Overall, a good stay but some room for improvement.
